Thurston County Citizen Budget Book 9 8 6 5 10 Thurston Board of County’s Strategic Plan, Thurston County is active and works toward action strategies of promote clean energy within Thurston County Clinical Care. In the fall, Thurston County and its cities may choose to adopt all or part of a plan long in the works to mitigate the climate problem. But it will be up to all of us to make the changes it requires. The Comprehensive Plan guides the growth of unincorporated Thurston County (areas outside of the cities). It details policies and goals for zoning and development regulations, and addresses requirements of Washington state's Growth Management Act.. It also includes specific guidelines for the subareas of Grand Mound, Rochester and Nisqually, as well as Joint Plans for the Urban Growth Areas. Plans: Thurston County. Thurston County In the Thurston Strategic plan there is a section called Environment & Sustainable Resources. Priorities include: “Foster understanding of environmental issues. Minimize the environmental footprint. Protect and restore water quality, biodiversity, open space, and ecosystems.
Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey, and Thurston County are working on a climate mitigation plan. They’re evaluating actions to reach the greenhouse gas reductions in their common targets – to reduce their inventoried greenhouse gas emissions from the built environment, on-road vehicles, waste, and agricultural livestock to 45 percent below levels by and 85 percent below levels by The Regional Trails Plan offers a vision for a region-wide trail network that connects people with places not just within Thurston County, but also looks beyond its borders for potential connections with neighboring counties. The plan is foremost a trail systems blueprint. It illustrates through maps and user-friendly narratives how multiple trails can connect. Thurston County and Olympia are again submitting a combined regional plan for CDBG and HOME funding.
